Company Background
ForrestPerkins provides interior architecture and interior design for properties in the luxury hospitality market. We also provide planning and program
management to owners, operators, developers, and asset managers of luxury hotels, resorts as well as multi-family developments.
Established in 1998 by Deborah Lloyd Forrest, FASID and Stephen Perkins, AIA, ForrestPerkins enjoys wide recognition for outstanding design, expert
program management and responsible stewardship of our clients' irreplaceable assets. Recognizing the trend toward consolidation in the hotel industry,
Deborah and Stephen combined their eponymous firms in order to remain valuable partners with their clients as many clients grew and combined.
ForrestPerkins has been fortunate to associate with ownership groups and brands that have remained powerful players on the world scene.
We continue to grow our firm by building and maintaining key relationships with a select group of owners, operators, and developers, resulting
in a long list of projects from an elite list of clients.
Our offices in Dallas, Texas and Washington, D.C. support over sixty interior designers, architects, lighting designers, and administrative professionals.
We manage our firm as we do our projects, with the highest degree of integrity and professionalism. We utilize the latest technology and management tools to
enable our staff to devote their time to our first priority, client projects. At the outset, we planned for growth by employing strategies and technology
suited to large firm management. However, we vowed to retain the personal service and culture most often associated with boutique firms. Our dual focus of
responsible firm management and nurturing a culture of creativity enabled us to double in size to sixty people within twelve months while designing and
managing over fifty ongoing projects.
ForrestPerkins ranks among the top 25 hospitality design firms according to
Interior Design magazine.
Work Process
Luxury hotels, resorts, and multi-family projects are unique and complex, characterized by complicated consultant teams, overlapping scopes of service,
and design requirements not always easily understood by the contractor. Add to this complexity stringent budgets, exacting program requirements plus
challenging schedules and it becomes obvious the critical role effective coordination during the design process must play in delivering a successful project.
At the beginning of any project, we assign a project manager who stays with the project from start to finish. His or her primary responsibility is to
provide the owner and operator with the comfort of knowing that the budget, schedule, and quality are under control. The project manager interfaces
externally with the other project team members and internally with ForrestPerkins' team of designers, architects, and support personnel to insure successful
delivery of an exceptional project. Each project manager is skilled in managing multiple priorities and balancing the fine line between creativity and pragmatism.
To achieve exceptional projects, ForrestPerkins employs design methods and documentation software that enables careful coordination between architects and designers.
For example, we pooled years of project knowledge to develop proprietary FF&E specification software to assist us in producing what are widely considered to be among
the best and most thorough specifications in the business. Consistently, we deliver specifications that are within budget, supported by accurate pricing and quantity
matrices. We follow through on this process by coordinating with the purchasing agent throughout the procurement and installation process. Likewise, our thorough
interior architectural documentation minimizes questions during the bidding and construction process, ensuring that the built project delivers the detailed design
which we envision and the owner expects.
Like the luxury hotel, resort, and multi-family developers, owners, and operators with whom we work, ForrestPerkins pays attention to the details that
differentiate a good property from a great one at every step in the process.
