Designed to complement the groomed fairways and extensive gardens that surround the hotel, the Westin Mission Hills is a study of subtle hue and texture. ForrestPerkins presented the Westin brand’s signature clean-lined profile in a manner indigenous to the surrounding desert, filling the large spaces with warm earth tones, glowing light and natural patterns.
Gentle shades of sand, underscored with contrasting dark and light wood furnishings and striated floors, form the foundation of the guestroom palette. Silver undertones in the sage green accent fabrics diffuse the abundant natural light and impart a gentle glow. Woven sisal rugs, rich leather and polished metal accents add natural, luxurious texture.
The distinctive desert light played an important role in the guestroom design. Throughout the day, subtle changes in illumination render strikingly different effects in the finishes and fabrics. Glowing walls in the early morning segue into rich golden shades in the afternoon, and evening lamplight brings out the luminous undertones of the fabrics.
Inspired by the beauty and complexity of the desert, artwork features natural sand and terra cotta shades in patterns inspired by shifting sand.
