The decidedly Victorian Empress Hotel was restored by Deborah Forrest in 1987 and remains an ongoing project today. Most recently completed are a new luxury spa, Willow Stream, the Library Lounge re-captured from use as a retail space, and the Fairmont Gold Lounge. The hotel retains its original details and guests have the sense of time travel as they experience the many amenities of this landmark resort.
